Tom has a passion for merging strong design skills with solid programming. He is both an artist and a programmer. As a seasoned instructor at the Art Institute of Portland, Tom has taught a variety of courses in art, design, programming, and interactive media. He has had a number of solo art shows, sold art in galleries, published a book, and was a presenter at the WebVisions conference in Portland, OR.
Tom started off in the arts & teaching, completing a BFA degree in Illustration from Brigham Young University and a Masters of Education from Argosy University, Seattle. He has also taught hundreds of students skills such as drawing, web design, PHP, MySQL, Javascript, and Python. He migrated from design to programming, and has been building websites or teaching about building websites for nearly 30 years. He started Wheelercreek Studio in 2007.
Tom is married to his sweetheart Amy Jo, and together they have 5 wonderful kids.
